1. What This App Is

Clinitask ("the App") is a personal task prioritisation and shift management tool designed to help healthcare professionals organise their workload during clinical shifts. It is intended as a convenience aid only.

🚫 The App is not a clinical system, medical device, electronic patient record, or approved clinical documentation tool. It must not be treated as one. It does not replace, supplement, or integrate with any authorised hospital system.

2. Eligibility

The App is intended for use by registered healthcare professionals only. By using the App you confirm that:

You are a registered healthcare professional or a student under appropriate supervision.
You will use the App in compliance with the policies of your employer and relevant regulatory body (e.g. GMC, NMC, HCPC).
You are 18 years of age or older.

3. Prohibited Uses

You must not use the App to enter, store, or process patient-identifiable information. This includes but is not limited to:

Patient names (full or partial)
NHS numbers
Hospital numbers or MRNs (Medical Record Numbers)
Dates of birth
Addresses or postcodes
Any combination of details that could identify a specific patient

Use bed numbers, bay references, or generic clinical descriptions only (e.g. "Bed 4 — check CRP").

4. Your Responsibility for Data Entered

You are solely and entirely responsible for any data you choose to enter into the App. The developer provides technical safeguards (including automated warnings) to help discourage entry of patient-identifiable information, but these measures cannot detect all forms of personally identifiable data and do not constitute a guarantee.

By using the App, you accept that:

You will exercise your own professional judgement at all times.
Any breach of data protection law, clinical governance policy, or professional standards arising from your use of the App is your personal responsibility.
The developer is not responsible for any consequences arising from patient-identifiable information you choose to enter, whether detected by the App or not.

5. Not a Medical Device

The App is not a medical device as defined by the UK Medical Devices Regulations 2002 or the EU Medical Device Regulation (MDR 2017/745). It has not been assessed, cleared, or approved by the MHRA or any other regulatory body for clinical use. Any clinical decisions you make remain entirely your own.

6. No Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer expressly disclaims all warranties including:

Fitness for a particular purpose
Accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any content or output
Uninterrupted or error-free operation
Compatibility with any hospital system or clinical workflow

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the developer shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App, including but not limited to clinical errors, data loss, regulatory sanctions, or professional disciplinary action.

8. Data Storage and Privacy

All data you enter is stored locally on your device only. The developer does not have access to your data. By using the App you confirm you have read and understood our Privacy Policy.

9. Institutional Use

This App is not approved for institutional deployment by any NHS trust, health board, or healthcare organisation without a formal data protection impact assessment (DPIA) and, where required, a Data Processing Agreement (DPA). Individual clinicians using the App on their personal devices do so at their own discretion and in accordance with their employer's IT and data governance policies.

10. Changes to the App and Terms

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App or these Terms at any time without notice. Continued use of the App after changes to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
